maybe it's not my weekend...

Thu Nov 26, 2009, 6:49 PM
.....but it's gonna be my year!

So last night was the Glamour Kills Tour! Let me tell you it was freaking amazing. I'd have to say it was probably one of the funnest concerts I've been to. Even though The Friday Night Boys weren't able to play, it was a killer show. Anyways, here's a summary of the night:

My friends and I got there super early, which was probably a good thing being that it was a sold out show and by the time doors opened, the line was stretched all the way around the block. We stood outside for more than 2 hours in cold and rainy weather...by the time we got inside, all of our toes felt as if they were going to fall off.

When we were inside, we went straight for the merch tables. I had pictures that I had drawn for all of the bands that I wanted to drop off so they wouldn't get ruined in the pit. We went to Hey Monday's first and I gave the drawing to Beth their merch girl and then right next to her stand was We The Kings' stand so I gave the merch guy my drawing. They both stood my drawings up so people could see it if they came to merch. I then bought shirts from each table and then we moved on to All Time Low's table. We dropped off my drawing with Vinny and bought shirts and then made our way to the pit.

The show was crazy. Hey Monday went first being that the Friday Night Boys weren't able to play. They were amazing as always, and the crowd was going crazy by the end of their set. I got separated from everyone I was with, but that's alright. I got up to the very front row by the barricade as a result of being separated from them, so it was all good. We The Kings went next and they were awesome. It was the first time I saw them live and they lived up to my expectations. Finally All Time Low came out and their set was one of the craziest sets I've ever seen. It almost lived up to the crazy set of Blink 182 when I went to see them back in August. The lights during their set were absolutely crazy, and they were their normal, high-energy selves. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, someone had turned a bra into two turkeys and threw it on stage; Alex made Jack take his shirt off and wear it, but he only did for a few seconds. Oh and in between songs, Jack tried to get a Jerry Springer show going on stage with two people on stage. Anyways, enough rambling about the show. It was super fun.

After the show, we made our way through the mass of people by merch tables, and outside into the freezing cold. We were hanging around waiting for them to come out and sign, along with a lot of other people, and then they said they couldn't come out and sign because the venue had some strict curfew and wouldn't let them. Travis from We The Kings came out anyways though, and so we got a picture with him and I had him sign my copy of my drawing of them. He also signed the wall of the building, which I thought was funny.

Anywho, my parents then came and got us all being that I'm not comfortable with driving downtown yet. One of the best parts of the night happened on the way home though...so on the way home, a tweet came into my phone from Alex of Hey Monday and it said "Whoever drew this, you are awesome! I'm sneezing or something," and he posted a picture of my drawing. The sneezing part I think was in reference that in my drawing I kinda messed up on his face, which I feel really bad about, but yeah that tweet made my night even more amazing than what it already was.

I think I should stop talking now though, sorry this journal was so long...last night was just too amazing. Oh and I'm most likely going to the Every Avenue concert tomorrow, so I'm stoked for that. But that means I have to get drawing.

Thanks to anyone who reads this, thanks for your time. Hope you had a great Turkey Day!!
